Do all browsers support WebP?
Yes. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari have all supported WebP for years, so it is safe to use as your only image format on a modern website.
How much smaller will my images get?
Expect 25 to 50 per cent smaller than an equivalent-quality JPG, and often 60 per cent or more compared with PNG.
Does WebP support transparency?
It does, unlike JPG. A transparent PNG converted to WebP keeps its alpha channel and still comes out much smaller.
Is WebP good for print?
No. It is a web format. Keep a PNG or TIFF master for anything destined for print.
