Image to JPG — frequently asked
Why does my transparent PNG get a background?
JPG has no transparency channel, so transparent pixels must become a solid colour. White is the default, but you can pick any colour above.
Does converting to JPG lose quality?
JPG is lossy, so there is always some loss. At 90% and above the difference is invisible in normal viewing, and the file is usually a fraction of the PNG size.
Can I convert HEIC photos from my iPhone?
Most browsers cannot read HEIC directly. Share the photo to Files on iOS, which converts it to JPG, or set your camera to Most Compatible in Settings.
How many images can I do at once?
Batches of a hundred or more work fine on a desktop. On a phone, thirty at a time is more comfortable.
